Apple is reportedly building a more conversational Siri powered by LLMs

Apple is working on overhauling Siri with an advanced version that will utilize the advanced LLMs, which are said to make Siri much more conversational and, hence, usable. With this move, Apple hopes to catch up on its train of ideas in the AI space, where Google has already presented features such as Gemini Live, which makes interactions with this AI more natural and intuitive than with Siri.

The new version of Siri is expected to completely replace the current interface, making it more interactive while still providing access to personal information and apps. Apple plans to release this enhanced version by the spring of 2026. The updated Siri is anticipated to function similarly to OpenAI’s Advanced Voice Mode but with deeper integration into Apple’s ecosystem.

Until the revamped Siri is ready, Apple will turn to third-party AI providers to enhance its current capabilities. OpenAI’s ChatGPT is expected to be available within Apple Intelligence by December, and Apple is also in discussions with other providers like Google and Anthropic. These partnerships highlight Apple’s effort to bring advanced AI functionality to users while preparing for the release of Siri’s major update.
