Instagram head Adam Mosseri announced that the Threads app has introduced a new feature allowing users to swipe between feeds directly from the home screen. This redesigned interface lets users quickly navigate between feeds, much like X functionality.

The update will roll out on Android today and hit iOS over the coming days. “This is a pretty big change, but it’s an enormous simplification of app navigation,” Mosseri said, noting that with this new redesign, users can quickly switch between “Following,” “For You,” and custom feeds with just a swipe.
This update builds on other recent changes in Threads. Users can now choose a default feed from “For You,” “Following,” or a custom feed- a feature highly requested since the launch of Threads. In addition, it introduced customized feeds where users can curate content based on specific topics or profiles.

It has also enhanced the “For You” algorithm to prefer content from followed accounts, thereby addressing concerns users have raised about seeing too much content from non-followed profiles.
Meta is reacting to the competition from Bluesky, a decentralized X rival. The growing popularity of Bluesky, with more than 20 million users, has compelled Meta to improve Threads at a rapid pace. Features like curated user recommendations, similar to Bluesky’s “Starter Packs,” are also in the pipeline.
