iOS 18.1: Apple Intelligence Rolls Out

While iOS 18.1 is released, Apple is introducing its new system: personal intelligence. It introduces A.I. tools to everyday tasks on the iPhone. Apple will roll these out across a range of apps, including Mail, Notes, and Pages. These will bring advanced writing capabilities, including proofreading, summarizing, and even rewriting abilities, that will make polishing content a breeze.

Apart from the writing enhancements, the Photos app has an upgrade feature worth mentioning. It will have a clean-up tool that could delete unwanted people or objects from pictures and leave a smooth background as if those distractions were never there at first sight. This is perfect for refining photos without looking out for third-party editing tools.

Another new feature that includes actual calls is audio recording and transcription directly on an iPhone. A transcription feature automatically informs the participants and summarizes the call after it’s over, so it’s suited to business users and someone who needs to monitor a conversation. Siri has been redesigned for its users to improve usability, as the interface is so tight that it shines both in interactions and in tight integration with iPhone functions. These Apple Intelligence features will initially be only in U.S. English, and more languages will follow soon.

iOS 18.2 Beta: New Features and Extended Availability of Languages

iOS 18.2 beta is available for developers. It includes new features and a wider availability of Apple Intelligence for English-speaking users across Australia, Canada, the U.K., and many more. The update further enhances the already developed A.I. tools, making them even better.

Image Playground is among such fascinating new additions. Users can generate new images from photos already captured and stored in their library. The pictures generated by this application can be saved. They will automatically sync across all devices with an Apple account under the same user I.D., offering a seamless experience to those who love experimenting with their photos.

The iOS 18.2 beta also includes “Genmoji, ” a new way of making emojis by using a descriptive text prompt and adding a bit of fun to expressions. The update also boasts its first-ever integration with ChatGPT. Siri will connect the user directly, providing a smooth experience if she understands that the A.I. can assist the request with the new feature. Apple says it has taken very stiff measures to ensure the privacy of its users in these communications, adding that no separate account in ChatGPT is required for users to enjoy this facility.

Another spotlight for the beta is “Visual Intelligence,” which upgrades the iPhone’s Camera Control. Now, users can point at a sign to get text translated or glance at an address. These and other features have significantly improved the A.I. tools, so it is one of the most essential releases in iOS 18.2 for iPhone 16 series owners.
