This update emphasizes speed, smoothness, and general user experience. OnePlus is known for its seamless interface, so it worked hard to make OxygenOS 15 even faster and more responsive. One of the features they have introduced is Parallel Processing, which is designed to ensure consistent performance so that the OnePlus phones will run smoothly even under heavy usage.

One of the major focuses of this release is reducing system storage. OxygenOS 15 requires 20% less system storage than its predecessor, OxygenOS 14. This means that more storage space will be available to users on future devices like the OnePlus 13. This storage boost won’t immediately appear on the OnePlus 12, but it will be there for future models.

It also brings visual improvements in many places in the interface. Other visual improvements this update brings are better animation when charging or unlocking, nicer blur effects around the system notifications, newer icon design, and much better volume and brightness control in quick settings.

The other feature is the Open Canvas, which adds more functionality for multitasking because you can run several apps simultaneously. By swiping an app several times, you can expand it to a nearly full-screen view to achieve a more flexible multitasking experience.

AI-Powered Improvements

OxygenOS 15 is full of AI-powered tools to improve the overall user experience.

  • AI Detail Boost enhances photo quality, mostly where details have been blown up, or zones need to be sharpened.
  • AI Unblur: Blurry pictures will be brought back to life with a sharpness that captures the moment.
  • AI Reflection Eraser: Removes unwanted reflections on the picture so you have more explicit images.
  • Intelligent Search: Searches through the device, files, and notes on the cloud to find any information.
  • Circle to Search: Google’s integration provides further advanced search abilities.
  • AI Notes: It organizes notes, makes them more readable, corrects grammar, and refines the structure to make it more readable.

Google’s Gemini feature is integrated into the OnePlus 13, making the device’s AI capabilities richer.
