Google Introduces Gemini 2.0 AI for Search Overviews

Google has finally unveiled its latest AI creation, Gemini 2.0, which is currently being tested to power the improved AI Summaries in Google Search. According to Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, this model is sophisticated enough to tackle more complex topics, multi-step questions, advanced mathematical problems, multimodal queries, and even coding exercises.

Sundar Pichai posted on X that testing for Gemini 2.0 started this week, with a larger rollout to begin early next year. He also mentioned that AI Overviews are going to be accessible to more countries and languages moving forward, which is going to make it more accessible to users in more parts of the world. “We’re testing Gemini 2.0’s advanced reasoning capabilities in AI Overviews to answer more complex and multi-step questions, and we plan on rolling it out more widely next year,” Pichai said.
