Inspired by Slack, Google Chat recently introduced something called “Huddles” that would allow for the easy transition from any chat to a voice or video call. With this function, teams can easily communicate in a real-time mode without getting out of the platform.

The users click the drop-down menu close to the call icon at Google Chat and click “Start the huddle.” Google Meet allows the participants to make voice calls by default. However, they might enable video and even shared screens.
First announced last year, along with the refresh of Google Chat, Huddles are now rolling out and will be live for all Google Workspace customers over the coming weeks. This product would help groups communicate more efficiently by offering quick, hassle-free communications.
