Astro Bot has been on a roll, winning over fans and critics alike, while also earning some of the highest review scores for a game this year. Now, the good news keeps coming Astro Bot is getting free downloadable content (DLC) later this year. This exciting update was confirmed by Astro Bot director and Team Asobi studio head, Nicolas Doucet, during an interview with Australian gaming outlet, Quest Daily.
What’s Coming in the Free DLC?
The new DLC will encompass sparkling maps focused on speedrunning challenges, leaderboards to song your progress, and new PlayStation-themed bots to rescue. However, don’t assume the DLC to be as large as something like Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree. Doucet made it clear that whilst the content might be amusing and engaging, it “isn’t going to be that large.”
A Challenge for Skillful Players
Players who found Astro Bot too easy will be happy to hear that the DLC will add more difficult challenge levels. While most of Astro Bot’s levels are beginner-friendly, the challenge modes require more skill. These demanding situations range from fast-paced obstacle publications to brain-teasing puzzle levels. For individuals who enjoy speedrunning, those new levels might be a wonderful addition, as they’re designed especially with the speedrunning community in mind.
New Bots with Familiar Faces
Some eagle-eyed players noticed that characters from games like Rayman, Stellar Blade, and Croc were referenced in Astro Bot’s credits, even though they weren’t actually in the main game. These characters are expected to make an appearance as the new bots in the DLC. Fans are also hoping for a bot based on Final Fantasy since it seems like a perfect fit for the game’s style.
Release Date
There’s no precise release date for the Astro Bot DLC simply yet. However, Doucet says it will be available sometime this year. Fans are already buzzing with excitement, eagerly awaiting the new content to drop.
