Android 16 Advanced Protection Mode Boosts Your Data Security

Android 16 Advanced Protection Mode

Every day, people store their personal and financial records, calendar, and even medical history in their Google account. That’s why it should be safeguarded as much as possible through the use of a password or passkey. With Android 16 Advanced Protection Mode, you can add an extra layer of security. You must also be cautious about using certain apps and services, always considering the permissions you grant to them.

The regular version of G Suite is sufficient for most users, but if you’re particularly worried about hackers, you can join Google’s Advanced Protection Program for added security. With Android 16 Advanced Protection Mode, Google may take this even further by allowing apps to access extra permissions when the mode is activated.

What is the Advanced Protection Program?

With Android 16 Advanced Protection Mode, these security measures could become even more robust.

Earlier this year in 2020, Google extended the program to Android devices. It maintains Google Play Protect, and apps not in Google Play Store are disallowed from installation. Also, it alerts the user of applications that Google has not endorsed further enhancing the security of the android operating system..

Now, Android 16 aims to improve security by introducing a new feature called Android 16 Advanced Protection Mode. A recent patch in the Android source code mentions this new mode, which allows users to enroll their device in a more secure state. Apps will be able to check if this mode is enabled and customize their behavior to enhance protection.
