WhatsApp has introduced a new feature called custom lists, which is aimed at helping users keep track of their numerous conversations more easily. The tool improves the earlier chat filters, enabling better chat organization.

With the feature of new lists, users can create categories to sift through their messages. Be it family, friends, colleagues, or neighbors, users can customize these lists as per their requirements. According to WhatsApp, it would help users focus on the most important conversations at any given time.

As is with the existing Favorites feature, you can add individual or group chats to any list you create. First, head to the Chats tab and look for the “\+” icon in the filter bar at the top of the page. Although this update is launching today with WhatsApp, it will roll out in phases, so don’t expect all users to have access right away- it may take a couple of weeks.

This upgrade is part of a succession of improvements made by WhatsApp to its widely used messaging app. More importantly, the service claimed that users can add contacts using any device, not just the central smartphone from which the user account has been created. The messaging app recently reached 100 million users in the United States, not even coming close to its two billion-user base around the world.
