Google Upgrade Battery Saver Mode for Pixel Watch 3

Pixel Watch 3

Recently Google updated its Pixel watch 3 as battery saver mode. Battery lifestyle troubles have been considered one of the biggest troubles with Google’s first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch. When Google launched the Pixel Watch 2, a number of those issues improved thanks to higher strength efficiency and a quicker charging cable. However, the Power Saver mode was still a weak point, as it didn’t work well on either version of the watch. Thankfully, the Pixel Watch 3 finally solves this with two key updates: auto-on and auto-off features.

Battery Saver on the Pixel Watch 1 and 2

Battery Saver mode should be simple and automatic, but on the Pixel Watch 1 and 2, it was difficult to use. You had to turn it on manually when your battery was low. When your watch’s battery got low, you would get a notification to turn on Battery Saver. But if you missed this notification, your watch could run out of power and die before you even realize it.

On top of that, Battery Saver mode didn’t automatically turn off once the watch was charged again. This meant the watch would stay in low-power mode until you remembered to turn it off manually. As a result, you could spend an entire day with notifications turned off just because you forgot to disable Battery Saver after charging, which was extremely frustrating.

Battery Saver on the Pixel Watch 3

Thankfully, Google has fixed these problems with the Pixel Watch three by way of including two new settings, making Battery Saver mode paintings extra like it does on smartphones.

The first development is that the watch now routinely switches to Battery Saver mode when it hits 15% battery. This small change makes a massive difference, as you do not have to worry about lacking the notification. In my revel in, it worked perfectly, with Battery Saver activating right while the battery reached 15%. You can also still manually turn on Power Saver mode any time before your battery reaches that level.

To manually turn on Battery Saver mode:

  1. Swipe down to open the Quick Settings menu.
  2. Tap the battery icon to enable Power Saver.

The second improvement is that the Pixel Watch 3 now automatically turns off Battery Saver mode when the watch is charged. As soon as the battery reaches 25%, the watch switches back to regular mode. This also worked well during my testing. You can find this setting under the Battery menu in the settings, and while you can disable it if you want, I highly recommend keeping it on.

To disable the automatic turn-off setting:

  1. Open the Settings menu on your Pixel Watch 3.
  2. Tap Battery.
  3. Select Battery Saver, scroll down, and tap the toggle next to Turn off when charged to turn off this setting.

A Small Change That Makes a Big Difference

These updates to Battery Saver mode won’t seem like a massive deal to all of us, but they display how Google is focusing on refining its smartwatch with each new version. By the 0.33 technology, we’re seeing greater considerate enhancements that beautify the general consumer enjoyment. These changes, in conjunction with others like higher battery existence, new watch faces, improved apps, greater accurate sensors, and better health monitoring, make the Pixel Watch Three a much greater polished device.
